Calypso, enchantress of the sea

I wanted to explore the use of photo reference with this piece to achieve a more realistic look. I remember being extremely inspired by the color red at the time, especially since it was around Christmas time. Alot of my older work from many years ago was done in a more realistic style, and a part of me wanted to see if I could still accomplish it. I was happy with the results of the experiment ^_____^. I named her Calypso after the ocean goddess in mythology.

The lighting for the ripples in the water reflecting off her skin, and the texture work on her scales are really nicely done. Very impressive. :D
